JAMMU, June 20: The Jammu and Kashmir Public Works (R&B) Department has ordered an inquiry into the non-compliance of DPR and PMGSY guidelines in the construction of several roads in Poonch district.
The action followed a departmental complaint regarding irregularities in the construction of four PMGSY roads, including Bonikhet to Chanasar, Chandimart to Dogrian, Sallan to Mahara, and the stretch from Km 7th to TO1 to Behramgalla.
The department examined the case and issued charges against nine engineers, including Satish Kumar Bhagat, Mohammad Parvaiz, Manzoor Hussain, Bikram Singh, then Executive Engineers Poonch, Shokit Ali, Ashfaq Ahmad Mughal, then Assistant Executive Engineers Poonch, and Anshul Bhagat, and Madhu Sudan, then Junior Engineers Poonch.
In response to the charges, the engineers were asked to furnish their replies, which were found unsatisfactory by the department.
To further investigate into the matter, the department has appointed Kewal Kumar Atri, Incharge Superintending Engineer (R&B), Circle Poonch, as the Inquiry Officer and Shakeel Ahmed, Incharge Executive Engineer, PMGSY Division Poonch, has been appointed as the Presenting Officer in the case.
As per the order, the inquiry officer has been tasked with examining all charges, responses, and related facts, and must submit a detailed report within 30 days.
The officer will also hear all parties involved before finalising the findings.
