POONCH, Oct 17: Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Poonch has ordered a detailed inquiry into the maternal death of a woman that occurred at District Hospital Poonch on October 15, 2025.
According to the order issued by Dr Parvaz Ahmed Khan, Chief Medical Officer, the deceased has been identified as Farzana Anjum, wife of Abdul Quyoom, resident of Bagyal Dara, Poonch (MRD Number 12562, dated 15/10/2025).
A committee has been constituted to probe the circumstances leading to the death. The inquiry team comprises Dr Ruby Naz (Deputy CMO Poonch), Dr Mohd Azam (DHO Poonch), Dr Muzaffar (Medical Officer, CHC Mendhar), Dr Shazia Anjum (Medical Officer, Gynaecology), Dr Mohd Abass (Medical Officer, Surgery, Surankote) and Ravinder Singh (Senior Assistant, Deputy CMO Office Poonch).
The committee has been directed to conduct a thorough investigation and submit its report to the CMO’s office by October 20, 2025, for onward submission to higher authorities.
