REASI, Sept 13: The Office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Reasi, has constituted an inquiry committee to investigate allegations of bribery against a doctor posted at Community Health Centre (CHC), Katra.
The case involves a purported demand and receipt of Rs 5,000 from a female patient, identified as Nisha, as surfaced in a viral video dated September 9, 2025.
The committee will be headed by Dr Gopal Dutt, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Reasi, with Dr Usha Kiran and Dr Savita Kumari as members. It has been directed to submit a comprehensive report by September 15, including factual findings, chronological account of events, identification of lapses, and recommendations for remedial or disciplinary action.
The CMO’s office emphasized that the timely submission of the report is crucial to enable further action under applicable rules and procedures.
