JAMMU, Aug 23: Trade Union leader, Ch Rashid Azam Inqlabi today highlighted the core issues of regularisation of daily wagers in a virtual meeting, here.
During the meeting, the daily wagers alleged that the UT Administration has failed to address their genuine and justified demands. “We performed their duties during COVID hard times as frontline workers but we are still deprived to get pending wages” they said.
Despite repeated representations to senior officers and even the Advisors to Lieutenant Governor, the Authority concerned still failed to clear the wages of the workers. “They are facing the worst kind of exploitation at the hands of the Government and even no human rights body seems bothered to listen to their plights,” Inqlabi alleged.
Inqlabi condemned the approach of the UT Government towards the daily rated workers and employees for making false and hollow promises and appealed to the Government to lift the ban on the new appointment of field staff in various Central Departments.
