Initiative’Anubhav’

Sir,
The new initiative ‘Anubhav’ launched by the Union Ministry of Personnel,Public Grievances and Pensions asking the Central government officers retiring within a period of next six months to leave behind a note or write-up on their achievements and outstanding work done by them,is a step in the right direction.Generally what happens is that the officers serving in the Central/ State goverenments retire without having been given an opportunity to pen down their experiences and achievements in the departments which they served for decades together. Now,through this innovative initiative, at least the retiring central government employees will be in a position to record their achievments and outstanding contribution in the form of a write-up which will also act as motivator for the serving officers. They should also be allowed to record their comments and suggestions on the functioning of their respective departments. These comments and suggestions could serve as a vital database and play a significant role in improving the functioning of various departments. This initiative should also be implemented by the various state governments and the officers should be given a chance to record their achievements/suggestions etc.during their tenures in their respective departments which could go a long way in bringing more efficiency in the departments. The DoPT has already introduced various reforms with regard to the recruitment in services, pensioners, trainings etc and it is hoped that these reforms will be implemented in letter and spirit and carried forward with zeal and zest.
Yours etc….
Ashok Sharma,
Udhampur.
