JAMMU, Nov 5: Cultural Wing of Department of Information and Public Relations and District Information Centre Kathua jointly organized cultural programme at Sub-Jail Hiranagar to entertain the inmates.
Superintendent of Sub-Jail Hiranagar Lazar Khandayara was the chief guest on the occasion.
The officials of the jail and large number of inmates witnessed the 2-hour long cultural programme and highly appaluaded the cultural items.
The artists from cultural wing of Information Department Jammu and District Information Centre Kathua presented Dogri, Punjabi, and Hindi songs. The Sufi and Punjabi songs were well enjoyed by the inmates which kept all spell bound.
The jail inmates also participated in the cultural programme and presented Punjabi songs. The inmates also dance on the beats of drums and enjoyed the cultural programme.
While speaking on the occasion, Superintendent of Sub-Jail Hiranagar thanked the Information Department for organizing the cultural programme in the jail for inmates. He said such programmes give pleasure to the inmates which help in relieving the mental stress. He requested the Information Department to organize such programmes in the near future.
The artists who participated in the cultural programme included Vijay Anand, Bodh Raj, Banti Kumar, Surjit Singh, Kamal Kumar, Gagandeep Singh, Joginder Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Dilsher Hans, Thomas and Vishal Pathania.
