RAJOURI, Oct 17: The body of a female infant was found in Khanyal Kote area of Thannamandi in district Rajouri today.
After receiving information, a police team led by SHO Thannamandi, Inspector Hilal Azhar, immediately reached the site. Infant’s body was initially shifted to the PHC Thannamandi. However, due to the lack of a mortuary facility at the local hospital, the body was later shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital, Rajouri for further examination and post-mortem.
Dr Sagheer Anjum, Zonal Medical Officer (ZMO) of Thannamandi, confirmed that the post-mortem will be conducted at GMC Rajouri to determine the cause of death. Investigation was in progress as police was working diligently to uncover more details surrounding this unfortunate incident.
