Indonesia Aug foreign tourist arrivals grew 2.1 pct y/y

JAKARTA, Oct 1: Indonesia’s foreign tourist arrivals in August grew 2.1 percent from year-ago levels, the country’s statistics bureau said on Monday.
Arrivals in July fell 5.94 percent from a year ago, marking the the first annual drop in over a year.
The archipelago lags regional neighbours in attracting tourists, although some economists think boosting its service industries could help spur growth for Southeast Asia’s largest economy.
