Speaking to the assembled crowd, Pathania shared insights from his interactions with lawmakers, policymakers, and thought leaders from around the globe. He underlined that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is well on its way to becoming the world’s third-largest economy, building on its status as the fastest-growing major economy.
Referring to recent economic challenges, Pathania expressed concern over the decision of the United States to double tariffs on Indian goods while lowering tariffs on imports from several other South Asian countries. He said this is a matter of concern but emphasised that India believes in dialogue, negotiation, and consultation and expressed confidence that the Indian diplomatic and trade teams will work towards a fair resolution. He asserted that far from discouraging India, this move will only strengthen the nation’s determination to protect the interests of its farmers, fishermen, dairy sector workers and other stakeholders.
Pathania said he had utilised the international platform to convey a clear message that Jammu and Kashmir is completely safe for tourism. He urged the Indian diaspora to take a more active role in the country’s growth journey by channelising their resources, influence and networks towards national development.
The gatherings were attended by a large number of community representatives, and members of professional associations. Prominent among those present were Puran Chand (DDC Udhampur-1), Lalita Sharma (Mandal Pradhan), Ashish Sharma (Mandal Pradhan), Varinder Singh, Himmat Singh, Arti Sharma, Vikram Singh, Santosh Devi, Mamta Sharma, and Girdhari Lal Padha, along with representatives from the Bar Association, Vyapar Mandal, traders, and civil society groups.
