RAJOURI, Oct 29: The Indian Army organised Shaheedgarh Diwas at Qila Darhal in Lam to honour the bravery and sacrifice of soldiers and civilians who fought in the 1947-48 Indo-Pak War.
The two-day event, held annually on October 27 and 28, paid rich tribute to the gallant heroes who defended the nation’s sovereignty and stood firm against all odds to protect the motherland.
The ceremony began with a wreath-laying event at the Shaheedgarh War Memorial, where officers, veterans, Veer Naris, and locals gathered to pay homage to the martyrs.
The memorial, bearing the names of the bravehearts, stood as a reminder of their unmatched courage.
Cultural performances, food and CSD stalls, and a special felicitation ceremony for Veer Naris and war veterans added to the emotional atmosphere of the event.
The celebration not only honoured the supreme sacrifices of the heroes but also inspired the youth to uphold the values of patriotism and service.
The locals appreciated the Army’s continued efforts to preserve the legacy of bravery and its outreach initiatives to strengthen ties with border communities, reflecting the enduring bond between the Armed Forces and the people.
