India, country of unlimited opportunities for development: Dhankar

MUMBAI, Feb 22: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar said on Saturday that India is a country with unlimited opportunities for development and appealed the youths to recognise these opportunities and contribute to the progress of the country.

Speaking at the 65th convocation ceremony of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) here, he said that in the last decade, the country has made progress in the field of technology and in the financial sector.

“We have become the fifth economy in the world and are on the way to becoming the third economy. The country has huge potential and now we are moving rapidly on the path of development. We are moving ahead by using infrastructure, communication, internet facilities, technology in various fields. Fifteen percent of the world’s total financial transactions are done in our country. Unless the youth of the country realises the development opportunities available in our country, we cannot move forward rapidly,” he said.

Dhankar further said, “There are unlimited opportunities before the youth in form of start-ups coming from rural areas or small towns. There are opportunities in various fields from marine technology to space technology. A developed India is our dream, and we are moving towards it. It is necessary for the youths to take the leadership of the country’s development by utilising the new opportunities.”

“We have to move swiftly and decisively to raise per capita income with a nation first mindset. We can progress by adopting the values   of social cohesion, unity in diversity, preservation of cultural values, respect for elders, environmental protection. Swadeshi, pride of Indianness, and dedicated spirit can take the country to the top. For this to be achieved by sidelining the forces against the country, the youth will have to take the initiative,” he added.

The Vice President guided the students by saying that failure in life is temporary, it can be overcome with consistent efforts.
