JAMMU, Jan 12: The Shri Raghunath Ji Corridor Development Council has announced the inauguration of ‘Shri Raghunath Ji Ki Jammu Arti’, a unique initiative aimed at promoting pilgrimage tourism in Jammu and Kashmir.
This spectacular event, being organized in association with the Tourism Federation of Jammu, will take place on January 14 at 5:00 pm at Shri Raghunath Ji Mandir Chowk, Jammu.
This was announced during a press conference here today by Rajesh Gupta, Chairman of the Shri Raghunath Ji Corridor Development Council, accompanied by Baldev Khullar, who conceived and developed the concept of Shri Raghunath Ji Ki Jammu Arti.
“To ensure the success of this initiative, 25 priests underwent rigorous training by experienced Acharyas from Kashi for the last six months. The Arti has been designed on the lines of the Ganga Arti being performed in Kashi, providing a unique and mesmerizing experience for devotees and tourists alike,” informed Rajesh Gupta.
He said that the main objectives of Shri Raghunath Ji Ki Jammu Arti are to promote pilgrimage tourism in Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting the state’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage; boost the local economy by increasing tourist footfall, creating employment opportunities, and stimulating economic growth besides preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of J&K and showcasing its unique traditions and customs.
“The Shri Raghunath Ji Corridor Development Council plans to make the Arti a regular feature at Shri Raghunath ji temple Chowk, initially on a monthly basis and eventually weekly. The council also plans to organize other cultural and spiritual events throughout the year, promoting the rich heritage of Jammu and Kashmir,” said Rajesh Gupta and extended an open invitation to all for joining this spectacular event and be a part of this unique initiative.
Shri Raghunath Ji Corridor Development Council is a collective effort of 20 plus trade associations from old Jammu city, having a presence around the revered Shri Raghunath ji temple. In recent years, the council noticed a decline in customer footfall in the area and decided to take matters into their own hands, rather than relying solely on Government support.
Sanjay Mahajan, President of RBBA; Amit Goyal, General Secretary RBBA; Rajiv Gupta, President Gumat Bazar Traders Association, Rajesh Gupta, Dharminder Pal, Harminder Singh and others along with all members of the Council were present in the press conference.
