JAMMU, Oct 8: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by the residents of Sunjwan and Sainik Colony against encroachments of nallah flowing towards Sharma Resorts from Haji Basti, Division Bench of High Court comprising Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey and Justice Bansi Lal Bhat today directed State to ensure implementation of the provisions of Jammu and Kashmir Water Resources (Regulation and Management) Act in its letter and spirit.
After hearing Senior Advocate Sunil Sethi with Advocate Veenu Gupta for the PIL whereas Senior AAG Gagan Basotra for the State, DB said that failure to comply with the directions shall form basis for proceeding against the Government and its authorities.
