POONCH, June 20: All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU), J&K unit has urged the Union Government to implement Mandal Commission Report in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a large number of OBC community members during a delegate session at Mendhar in district Poonch today, senior members of the J&K Unit, Abdul Majid Malik ( president), Abdul Razak Qureshi and Kali Dass expressed strong resentment over non-implementation of Mandal Commission report in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir even after abrogation of Article 370.
They raised question on the abrogation of Art 370 and said if it has really happened then what was the reason behind non-implementation of this Report in J&K UT. They criticised political parties having anti-OBC stance and said that community will act against such parties during elections.
They alleged that Gapkar Group (BJP) and Gupkar Group (NC-PDP), both have deep rooted mutual understanding. They have befooled the OBCs for their bested interests. Both the groups are the two sides of the same coin.
The speakers claimed that as far as the political parties are concerned, all are anti-OBC and have deprived them of the constitutional rights under the garb of Art 370 before it’s abrogation and BJP is also doing so after it’s abrogation in August 2019.
They claimed that Prime Minister has neither allowed OBC census, nor has implemented the due constitutional rights of OBCs @ 27% in J&K. The participants resolved not to vote anti- OBC parties. Matter of reservation in promotion for SCs and STs was also taken up during the meeting.
