JAMMU, Oct 18: Indigenous Medicines Organization (IMO) commemorated the Jayanti of Lord Dhanwantari, the creator of Ayurvedic System of Medicine with full enthusiasm today.
In this connection a function was held under the chairmanship of Dr. K K. Gandotra former Deputy Director, Ayush in which large number of professionals participated. While paying floral tributes, he stressed upon to follow the path shown by Lord Dhanwantari and serve the ailing humanity selflessly with the spirit of dedication.
Dr. Varinder Mahajan former president J&K Registration Board of Ayurvedic and Unani Systems of Medicine while paying floral tributes, stressed on the need to educate the people about health and hygiene as mentioned in Swasthvritta and Yoga of Ayurveda which has been recognised across the Globe.
Dr. Mahesh Sharma general secretary, IMO ion his address criticised the Government for running Government Ayurvedic Medical College Akhnoor on adhocism. He reminded the Government that on the inaugural ceremony of the College Government stated that it will be the one of the State of the art colleges in the country. NCISM Commission gave its very poor grading, so State Government should appoint technically qualified professional Principal as per NCISM norms along with the competent Academic Staff at the earliest.
Dr. Sharma stressed upon the Government and the Lieutenant Governor to fulfil their commitment for the betterment of ancient system and also the commitment of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in this regard.

Another function was organised in the premises of Rahul Pharma here which was attended by large number of industrialists and professionals.
Dr Virender Mahajan former president, Board of Ayurveda and Unani System of Medicines and founder of Rahul Pharma while speaking on the occasion said with the direct patronage of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi the acceptance of Ayurveda increases many fold across the world which further confirms that Ayurveda is for everyone and need of the everybody.
