JAMMU, Aug 26: The immovable properties worth Rs 3 lakh of the then Deputy General Manager JKPCC Limited, Suresh Kumar Rekhi, have been attached under PMLA.
The Directorate of Enforcement Jammu has filed prosecution complaint in ECIR/02/JMSZO/2020 dated 21-02-2020 against accused Suresh Kumar Rekhi (the then Deputy General Manager, JKPCC Limited) and 5 other accused persons on 24-08-2023 before Court of Special Judge PMLA Cases Jammu u/s 3 r/w Section 4 of PMLA 2002.
The PMLA case was taken for investigation by Vigilance Organization Jammu (now ACB) under FIR Number 12/2013 on 05-08-2013 registered against Suresh Kumar Rekhi u/s 5(1)(c) r/w 5(2) of JK PC Act, 2006 for indulging in corrupt and illegal practices and for raising disproportionate assets by misusing his official position.
During PMLA investigation, disproportionate assets to the amount of Rs 4,22,74,730 (Rs 3,82,74,730 + Rs 40,00,000) were found. The proceeds of crime of Rs 3,00,78,550 were attached vide two provisional attachment orders dated 31-01-2022 and 06-03-2023 which were confirmed by Adjudicating Authority PMLA New Delhi on 25-08-2022 and 04-08-2023.
The prosecution complaint was filed by Ashwani Khajuria (Panel Counsel from Directorate of Enforcement, Jammu).
