NOWSHERA, June 8: The Forest Department staff today seized Illegally felled Khair wood from village Ranthal in Nowshera.
Official sources said that based on a specific input regarding illegal felling of Khair wood, Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera, Neelima Shah constituted a team headed by Rakesh Verma, Range Forest Officer Sunderbani and Ved Parkash, Block Forest Officer Dharamsal. The team raided the suspected place and found 14 logs of Khair wood having volume 0.796 CUM.
The Khair was felled without seeking any prior permission. A case under relevant sections of law has been booked for further proceeding into the matter. The operation was carried out under the direct supervision of Vivek Verma Conservator of Forest West Circle Rajouri.
