SRINAGAR, May 27: Vigilance Organization Kashmir today presented a charge-sheet (Challan) against then President and Executive Officers of Municipal Committee Handwara, besides other accused, in the case of illegal appointments made in MC Handwara during the period, 2007-09.
The challan in case under FIR No 29/2010, under section 5(1) (d) 5(2) of Jammu & Kashmir Prevention of Corruption Act, was presented before the Anti-Corruption Court, Baramulla, after obtaining proper sanction for launching prosecution from the competent authority against the in-service and retired accused Government public servants as well as the beneficiaries.
The accused are Masroor Ahmad Banday of Banday Mohalla Handwara (the then President Municipal Committee Handwara and retired now), Ab Rashid Dar of Handwara ( the then Executive Officer MC Handwara and retired now), Mohd Subhan Malik of Rigipora Kupwara (the then Executive Officer MC Kupwara and retired now, Zahoor Ahmad Dar of Hajin Bandipora (Cashier-cum-clerk MC Handwara), Shaista Amin of Banday Mohalla Handwara (beneficiary), Showket Ahmad Banday of Banday Mohalla Handwara (beneficiary), Imran Rashid Dar of Handwara (beneficiary), Umar Rashid Dar of Handwara (beneficiary), Altaf Ahmad Bhat of Dadipora (beneficiary), Mohd Sultan Bhat of Gooripora (beneficiary), Saleem Akbar Banday of Banday Mohalla Handwara (beneficiary), Javid Ahmad Teeli of Hajin (beneficiary) and Akeel Anwar Malik of Rigipora Kupwara (beneficiary).
The Vigilance Organization Kashmir had registered a case after conducting a verification into the allegations of illegal appointments made in MC Handwara by then President and Executive Officer M.C Handwara during the period 2007-09 in conspiracy with other accused.
