JAMMU, Jan 19: IIT Jammu hosted 25 students from the states of Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh as part of the Border Area Youth Exchange Programme, an initiative under the Mission Youth Bharat (MY Bharat) framework led by Nitin Hangloo, District Youth Officer, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), organized under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India.
This program was conducted in coordination of Dr Nitan Sharma of Law School, Jammu University. The Border Area Youth Exchange Programme aims to foster linkages, mutual understanding, and a techno-cultural exchange between youth from border and non-border regions.
The visit to IIT Jammu was meticulously organized by Dr Srishilan C, a faculty member of the institute, who ensured that participants experienced the technological advancements and cultural vibrancy of the institute.
As part of their itinerary, students toured various state-of-the-art facilities at IIT Jammu, including the Physics Lab, Tinkerer’s Lab, and Central Workshop. These visits were led by Md Israel and Arjun Singh, under the coordination of Dr R P Prajapat, who provided insightful demonstrations and hands-on experiences, showcasing the institute’s technological prowess and innovation.
Participants expressed their appreciation for the program and the valuable learning opportunities it provided. The visit allowed them to explore how technological advancements can be integrated into daily life while gaining a deeper understanding of the academic and research ecosystem at IIT Jammu.
Speaking about the program, Dr Srishilan C remarked: “This initiative bridges the gap between youth from diverse geographical regions, fostering mutual respect and understanding. It’s a step towards empowering young minds to contribute to nation-building through technology and innovation.”
