JAMMU, Jan 27: Reiterating that a strong nation can only be built on the foundation of a healthy society, IGP Security & Crime, Jammu and Kashmir, Sujit Kumar Singh, today addressed a gathering at a mega free medical camp organised at Baba Talab in the Marh Assembly Constituency, where over 1500 people availed free healthcare services.
The camp was organised by Shri Kailakh Jyotish avim Vedic Sansthan Trust in collaboration with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Speciality Hospital and the AYUSH Department, Jammu and Kashmir.
During the camp, teams of experienced doctors conducted examinations and treatment for eye ailments, gastrointestinal disorders, seasonal diseases, dental issues, gynaecological problems and orthopaedic conditions.
General physician consultations and diagnostic facilities, including ECG, were also provided free of cost.
Medicines were distributed to patients after consultation, bringing significant relief to the beneficiaries.
Addressing the gathering, IGP Sujit Kumar Singh said that free medical camps are an effective way to deliver healthcare services to people living in rural and remote areas.
He said such initiatives help in early detection of diseases and spread health awareness among the public.
“Only healthy citizens can build a strong society, and a healthy society is the basis of a strong nation,” he said, appreciating the role of social organisations and medical professionals.
Special Guest SSP Brijesh Sharma said healthcare is a basic human need and praised social organisations for supplementing Government efforts.
He said such camps enhance health awareness and help build public trust.
President of Shri Kailakh Jyotish avim Vedic Sansthan Trust and State Awardee, Mahant Rohit Shastri, said the Trust is committed to service to humanity and will continue organising similar camps in the future.
Doctors who participated included Dr Aseem Sharma, Dr Ankita, Dr Rohit Sharma, Dr Tanushree Sharma, Dr Malvika Sharma, Dr Rimjhim Sharma, Dr Vikas Sharma, Dr Anuradha and Dr Sushil Bhatt.
