RAMBAN, June 18: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, today visited Ramban district to review the arrangements for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Yatra en-route.
During the visit, the IGP inspected the Lambar ground, a key halt point for Yatris, and assessed the availability of civil infrastructure including tentage, drinking water, sanitation, and power backup.
He stressed the need for joint drills, intelligence-based deployment, and public-friendly policing to ensure a smooth and secure pilgrimage.
The IGP also held a review meeting at the Police Control Room (PCR) Ramban with DIG DKR Range Shridhar Patil, SSP Ramban Kulbir Singh, officers from J&K Police, and representatives of other security agencies.
The meeting focused on security deployment, convoy regulation, emergency response plans, and coordination strategies.
Later, the IGP inspected the National Highway sector in Ramban, accompanied by SSP National Highway Ramban, Adil Hamid.
He reviewed the traffic management and road repair works and directed officers to ensure uninterrupted convoy movement, especially through landslide-prone and weather-sensitive areas.
