JAMMU, June 25: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, B S Tuti today visited Police Drug De-addiction and Rehabilitation Centre in Channi Himmat and reviewed its working.
IGP Jammu held detailed discussions with the staff and inmates undergoing treatment at the centre. He also took a comprehensive tour of the Centre, inspecting the infrastructure, medical facilities and counselling services. He interacted with the patients, inquiring about their progress and well-being.
He emphasized the importance of a multi-faceted approach, combining medical treatment, psychological counselling, and vocational training to ensure long-term recovery and successful reintegration into society.
The IGP Jammu urged the Centre’s staff to continue their efforts in raising awareness about the dangers of drug addiction and promoting early intervention. He stressed the importance of strong community involvement and collaboration with various stakeholders to effectively address the growing issue of drug abuse.
