JAMMU, Nov 4: In view of present security scenario, forth coming festivals, opening of Darbar offices at Jammu and scheduled VVIP visit to the State, M Sulaiman Salaria, IGP Railways, J&K, reviewed the security arrangements in a meeting held today here at GRP Lines.
Ashok Kumar Sharma, SSP Railways Katra, Suram Singh, SP Railways Jammu, SDPOs of Railways Jammu/Katra, SHOs of Railways Jammu/Katra, representative of RPF and other NGOs/incharges of GRP Jammu, participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, the IGP issued on the spot instructions/guidelines to the GOs, jurisdictional officers and other participants for safety and security of railway track, railway stations and running trains in the jurisdiction of GRP Katra and GRP Jammu, especially at Railway Station Jammu and Railway Station Katra, as the said vital installation are the most crowded Railway Stations of the State.
The officers were instructed to ensure fool proof security arrangements at the railway tracks, railway stations and in the running trains by regular and effective access control system at the railway stations as well as by effective patrolling routine wise inside the running trains.
The IGP directed the officers to brief the jawans and officers to provide all viable assistance to public especially the passengers who travel by train to Jammu and Katra. They were asked to remain polite with public and firm with duties and maintain alert and vigil on the railway track, railway stations and in the running trains.
The officers were directed to maintain close coordination with RPF, Railway authorities, district police and other security agencies who are also the stake holders in ensuring the safety and security of railways.
