JAMMU, Feb 10: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, chaired a high-level review meeting at the Range Police Headquarters in Batote to assess the operational preparedness and security situation in the Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban range. The meeting was attended by senior officers from the Jammu Zone, including officials from Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts.
During the review, IGP Jammu conducted a meticulous assessment of the prevailing security landscape, focusing on the operational readiness and response mechanisms in the region. The discussions centered around ensuring seamless coordination among various security agencies and police forces deployed in the area to maintain law and order and effectively address potential security threats.
A comprehensive evaluation of the strategic deployment of forces across the three districts was carried out, with a special emphasis on countering emerging security challenges. The meeting highlighted the need for enhanced surveillance, improved coordination between field forces and intelligence networks, and bolstered logistical support. Additionally, the IGP stressed the importance of intensified patrolling and the implementation of preventive measures to avert any untoward incidents.
Recognizing the significance of community engagement, IGP Jammu underscored the necessity of fostering strong ties with local populations, particularly in areas characterized by difficult terrain. He emphasized that building trust and cooperation with local communities is crucial for effective policing. Furthermore, he reiterated the commitment to ensuring the welfare of officers deployed in remote and challenging locations, acknowledging their dedication and service in maintaining security in the region.
The meeting was attended by DIG DKR Range; Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) of Doda, Kishtwar, and Ramban; SSP Special Operations and Training, ZPHQ Jammu; SSPs Operations of Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, and Jammu; and the Staff Officer to IGP Jammu.
