JAMMU, Mar 6: A two-day specialized training programme on Electronic Surveillance began at the Conference Hall of Zonal Police Headquarters (ZPHQ) Jammu to strengthen the technical capabilities of police personnel involved in investigation.
The training programme was inaugurated by Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, in the presence of Staff Officer to IGP Jammu Shamsheer Hussain and Senior Prosecuting Officer Himanshu Mahajan.
Addressing the participants, the IGP highlighted the increasing importance of technology-based investigation and electronic surveillance in dealing with modern crimes such as terrorism, cyber offences and organised criminal activities.
He said that strengthening the technical skills of investigators is essential to ensure professional, evidence-based and legally sustainable investigations.
He encouraged the trainees to make the best use of the programme and apply the knowledge gained during the training in their respective districts and units.
The training aims to equip officers with better understanding of modern investigation techniques and surveillance tools used in policing.
During the programme, subject experts and senior officers will deliver lectures and conduct interactive sessions on different aspects of electronic surveillance and technology-assisted investigation.
The sessions are designed to familiarize the participants with modern tools used in digital investigation and intelligence gathering.
The course will also focus on emerging technological challenges in policing and the role of surveillance and analytical tools in supporting field investigations and operational decision-making.
Officers and officials from different districts of Jammu Zone are participating in the training programme, which is part of the ongoing capacity-building initiatives of Jammu and Kashmir Police to enhance professional skills in dealing with technology-enabled crime and security challenges.
