SRINAGAR, Apr 20: IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar today released “Achievements for the year 2024-25” and also organised an induction meeting for students who took admission for the January 2025 session.
The book release ceremony of “Achievements for the Year 2024-25” was held at SKIMS Soura auditorium and graced by several distinguished personalities, including Prof Mohd Ashraf Ganie, Director, SKIMS; Prof Naser Iqbal, Registrar, Kashmir University; Prof G H Yatoo, Head Department of Hospitals Administration SKIMS; Dr Zafar, Incharge CRC Bemina; Dr Aijaz Ashraf, Regional Director MANUU; Principals of the Govt Degree Colleges, Coordinators from various Study Centres, Academic Counselor and staff from Regional Centre Srinagar and students.
Regional Director Dr AH Rizvi highlighted the achievements that have been showcased in the book “Achievements for the Year 2024-25.” He said that the book highlights the centre’s contributions to academic excellence, including conducting academic counseling sessions for students, monitoring practicals to ensure hands-on learning experiences, successfully conducting examinations and maintaining academic integrity.
“The book serves as a testament of the excellent leadership of our Vice Chancellor Prof Uma Kinjilal, Director (RSD) Dr Manorma Singh, various schools, units and centres at headquarters, and to the hard work and dedication of the Principals, coordinators and Part time staff of study centres across Kashmir Valley and Regional Centre,” he said and lauded the contribution of Dr Abdullah, Asst Regional Director and Bhanwar Singh, Assistant Registrar for outstanding services to IGNOU.
In another event, an induction program was organised for the new students who got themselves enrolled for the January 2025 admission session. The aim of the induction meeting was to familiarize new students with the university’s academic programs, policies, and support services.
During the induction meeting, Dr Abdullah, Asst Regional Director provided valuable insights into academic expectations, student support services, and opportunities available at IGNOU.
The event provided a platform for students to engage with new ideas and perspectives in various fields of study. Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many appreciating the university’s efforts to create a supportive learning environment.
