IGNOU holds workshop for District Managers of CSCs

JAMMU, Dec 14: A workshop of the District Managers of CSCs was organized today by IGNOU Regional Centre Jammu for strengthening the facilitation of its online services to students. Representatives of all 10 districts of CSCs participated in the workshop.
In the month of August 2017, IGNOU signed an agreement with CSC e-Governance Services India Ltd, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, with the objective of facilitating a host of online support services to its prospective and enrolled students.
Dr Joginder Kumar Yadav, Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre Jammu, in his welcome address, termed this initiative of the University as a welcome step towards strengthening the support services. Dr Yadav said that this initiative will help RC Jammu to reach out to its potential students in rural and far flung areas of the region besides providing alternative digital support helpdesk to urban and semi urban students.
Dr Sandeep Gupta, Assistant Regional Director, hosted the programme and presented live demonstration of the online services being offered by IGNOU. Dr Gupta interacted with the participants and replied to several queries raised by the District Managers with respect to online admission, re-registration, Term-End Examination, Refund procedure, etc.
Dr Asha Upadhyay, Assistant Regional Director, briefed about various initiatives taken by the University in the recent past for the benefit of several disadvantaged sections of the Society and asked the participants to help RC Jammu in dissemination of information at their level.
Ashwani, State Head of CSC, in his address, assured the Regional Centre of all support and proposed to hold a series of workshops for the Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) of the CSCs to acquaint them with the digital support services to be given to the students of IGNOU.
