SAMBA, May 15: In order to take on the menace of drugs head-on, the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Anand Jain today directed the police officers in Samba District to identify the source, carrier, and destination of the drugs.
He passed these directions while reviewing the law and order, security, and crime scenario of the District besides chairing another meeting with all the supervisory officers, SHOs, and other police officers.
During the meeting, Jain directed the police officers to focus on action against gangsters, NDPS cases, crimes against property and persons, and inquest proceedings.
“Target NDPS cases, particularly identifying the source, carrier, and destination of drugs,” he directed the police officers during the meeting.
Jain directed that properties of absconding gangsters be attached under relevant laws and that similar actions be taken against other criminals.
These measures aim to bolster efforts in maintaining law and order, combating crime, and ensuring citizen safety and security.
Accompanied by senior officials, the ADGP Jammu also conducted a thorough inspection of the Police Station Samba.
Jain examined the station’s infrastructure, facilities, and operational readiness, and scrutinized record-keeping processes to ensure adherence to standard procedures and protocols.
He underscored the importance of efficient policing and community engagement in maintaining law and order in the region.
