NEW DELHI, Jan 5: A delegation of the Intellectual Civil Society (ICS) from Ladakh, comprising prominent business leaders and professionals called on the Lieutenant Governor, Kavinder Gupta, here today.
The delegation was led by its Chairman, S S Sodhi, Pankul Rathore, associated with an Indian no-waste-to-energy enterprise, Karan Seth, Managing Partner, N D Radha Kishen & Co, a legacy transport company and Shiv Kant Khajuria, Managing Director, EEE Electric Car Company.
The delegation placed on record its deep appreciation for the visionary leadership of the PM Narendra Modi and the Union Home Minister Amit Shah for transformative decisions that have opened Leh and Ladakh to the rest of the world.
Members acknowledged that these bold reforms have catalysed tourism, infrastructure development, business confidence, social initiatives and CSR opportunities, positioning Ladakh as a safe, progressive and attractive destination for national and global stakeholders.
During the interaction, Sodhi especially commended the LG for the progressive and inclusive sports policies introduced in recent years.
He noted that these initiatives would significantly benefit students, sportspersons, schools and emerging talent across Leh and Ladakh, fostering discipline, excellence and national integration among youth.
The LG reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to transparent governance, investor-friendly policies, youth empowerment, innovation, sports development and holistic socio-economic progress in the region.
