HYDERABAD, Jan 11: Union Minister Kishan Reddy participated in the Sankranti celebrations held at the Swarna Bharati Trust in Muchintal, on the city outskirts on Sunday. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Reddy extended Sankranti greetings to those undergoing training in various professions at the Swarna Bharati Trust.
He said that the festival of Sankranti is very special in both the Telugu states.
Kishan Reddy noted that whether one is a Chief Minister or an IAS or IPS officer this tradition is important and should be followed across the entire country.
He assured that he would definitely bring this matter to the attention of the Prime Minister and work towards ensuring that people who migrate to cities across the country for various professions and livelihoods are encouraged to return to their native villages, as this would greatly benefit the nation.
He said that for the past 25 years, the Swarna Bharati Trust has been successfully conducting social and spiritual activities, as well as programs aimed at awakening public consciousness, under the leadership of former Vice President Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu.
The union Minister noted that the Swarna Bharati Trust has been shaped into an exemplary institution. Today, a training program has been launched under the leadership of Muppavarapu Harsha, and he extended his special congratulations to him.
He further stated that all Hindu festivals are closely connected with nature, and that there is great science hidden behind them.
He said that festivals are deeply linked with villages and conveyed Sankranti festival greetings to all Hindus across the country.
