Srinagar, Sept 7: Hurriyat Conference senior leader and former chairman Abdul Gani Bhat today said that separatists committed a mistake by refusing to hold talks with the members of the All Parties Delegation that visited Kashmir early this week.
The Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani closed the door for the members of the delegation who called on him on Sunday during their visit to Kashmir to assess the ground situation.
The moderate Hurriyat Conference leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, also refused to hold talks with the visiting APD members at Chesmashahi where he is lodged. The JKLF chairman, Yaseen Malik and others also refused to hold talks with them over the situation that has developed in Kashmir for last two months.
The decision not to hold talks with the APD was jointly taken by separatists. However, Bhat said today that the visiting APD members deserved respect and Hurriyat had committed mistake by not holding talks with them.
