Hundreds throng Kapal Mochan Shrine on Shravan Bah

JAMMU, Aug 6: Hundreds of members of the Kashmiri Pandit community from different parts of UT of J&K and country thronged the sacred Tirathraj Kapal Mochan and temples in Shopian, South Kashmir today to offer prayers and participate in Shravan Bah rituals.
These rituals, including Pind Daan and Shradh, (religious rituals) performed for seeking the liberation of those people who have died accidentally or suffered an untimely death. Devotees in large numbers gathered to pay homage to their departed loved ones. They prayed for their Moksha.
The religious programme was held for three days beginning on August 4 which concluded today. Yesterday a Maha Yagya was also simonized in which a large number of devotees participated and they were served Prashad after Puranahuti.
The Kapal Mochan management and the district administration Shopian has made excellent arrangements for the devotees which ensured the smooth and dignified conduct of the yatra.
President, Tirath Raj Kapal Mochan, Ashok Sathoo under whose supervision the religious function was held also apprised the devotees about development programme of the shrine and he threw light on the religious significance of Kapal Mochan.
