RAJOURI, Jan 6: The five-day annual Urs of Hazrat Syed Shah Rasool Shah popularly known as Nanga Baji Sahib concluded today at village Seem Samit in Rajouri.
As usual, the annual Urs of Hazrat Qibla Nanga Baji Sahib is celebrated at the residence of his son and Sufi Saint Alhaj Baji Syed Muhammad Ayoub Kazmi.
Today, at the end of the five-day Urs recitation of the Holy Quran, and special prayers for peace and order were made.
Renowned Sufi Hazrat Qibla Nanga Baji Sahib was a pious and spiritual personality who belonged to Malingam village in Bandipora district of Kashmir. On the occasion of his main Urs, thousands of people from many parts the country gather at his shrine.
While the descendants of the spiritual patron spread across the dimensions of the state celebrate Urs on his name on different dates at different places.
As a continuation of the same series, this year also hundreds of devotees attended the Urs at the house of Baji Syed Muhammad Ayoub Kazmi, son of Nanga Baji Saab and participated in the 68th Urs of the great sage. Free langar was arranged for the devotees on the occasion. Despite the rain and bitter cold, hundreds of devotees made sure to participate in Urs.
On the evening of January 5, a Sufi session (Mahfil Sammah) was organized in collaboration with the State Cultural Academy Unit of Rajouri Poonch, in which eminent singers performed Qawwals. Hundreds of Qawwali fans also enjoyed the event.
