Col (then Captain) Ajay Rai, who had fought in the Battle of Jubar Ridge, shared his experience along with other soldiers who took part in the operation to evict intruders.
Local porters who had played a key role in the 1999 war were also honoured.
The event also included storytelling by community members, enthusiastic participation from local youth and students, and a medical camp organised by the Indian Army.
