KATRA, Nov 16: Eminent social reformer Dr Navneet Kaur, Ritu Singh & Himanshu Purohit organised the second phase of `Free HPV Vaccine’ for the underprivileged girls of Katra.
The second phase of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination drive successfully concluded at the Community Health Centre (CHC) Hospital Katra. The drive, which vaccinated approximately 100 adolescent girls, was inaugurated by former minister Jugal Kishore and renowned social reformer Dr Navneet Kaur.
Jugal Kishore lauded the initiative, emphasizing the critical importance of women’s and girls’ health. He appealed the Government to bring this life-saving HPV vaccination under the National Immunisation Protocol to ensure every girl in India has access to this protection.
The campaign was spearheaded by Dr Navneet Kaur’s NGO SUPPORT, in collaboration with Being Indian Patriots (BIP), the Maharaja Hari Singh Foundation (MHSF), ISBTI a consortium of Rotary Clubs including RC Jammu Bahu, RC Jammu Tawi, and Rotary Helping Hands.
Concluding the event, Dr Navneet Kaur said: “With the successful completion of this second phase, our mission here is accomplished, marking a major milestone in our journey,”
She specifically acknowledged the unwavering support of key individuals, including Himanshu Purohit, Ritu Singh, Gurneet Singh, Jaswinder Singh, and the tireless volunteers from Delhi Public School (DPS), Katra, whose mobilization efforts were instrumental to the drive’s success.
To honor their dedicated service, the volunteers and CHC Hospital staff were presented with mementoes and medals during the ceremony.
Dr Kaur also outlined her ambitious vision for the future, reaffirming her commitment to expand this life-saving mission to all districts of Jammu and Kashmir, having already covered four districts in the Jammu province. The vote of thanks was delivered by Himanshu Purohit.
