JAMMU, Dec 12: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Bathindi area today claimed to have booked a house owner for allegedly violating the District Magistrate’s order on mandatory verification of the tenants.
During routine patrolling duty in Malik Market area, a team of Police Post Bathindi learnt that one Taj Din son of Kaku Choudhary of GTB, Malik Market had rented out accommodation to some Kashmir-based and other persons without conducting the mandatory tenant verification, a police official said.
Acting swiftly, he said, a case FIR number 340/2025 under section 223 BNS was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and further investigation was initiated, he said.
Meanwhile, in a statement, the police have yet again urged the general public to strictly comply with tenant verification norms in the interest of maintaining peace and ensuring community safety.
