DODA, Jan 7: Police here today registered a case under Section 223 of BNS against a house owner for violating the orders of the District Magistrate, Doda, by keeping a tenant in his residential premises without mandatory Police verification.
During a routine patrolling in Sadiq Abad, Doda area, cops from Police Station Doda noticed one Malek Ali, resident of Assam, moving under suspicious circumstances. During questioning, he disclosed that he was residing as a tenant in a rented accommodation at Sadiq Abad, Doda.
Acting promptly, the cops visited his rented accommodation and upon further enquiry, it was established that the house owner, Abdul Qayoom had rented out the accommodation without completing mandatory tenant verification process and without informing the concerned Police Station, thereby violating the standing orders of the District Magistrate.
Accordingly, an FIR with No. 05/2026 Under Section 223 of BNS was registered at Police Station Doda and investigation started.
