Hotel owner, staff booked for violation of Foreigners Act

UDHAMPUR, Oct 9: Owner and management of a prominent hotel in the town have been booked by Udhampur Police for alleged violation of Foreigners Act.
During routine checking of hotels conducted by a team of Police Station Udhampur, it was found that the owner/managing staff of Hotel Samrat, Udhampur had failed to submit Form C, a mandatory online report for all foreign guests staying at their property, as required under the Foreigners Act.
It was further revealed that a few days earlier, a foreign national had stayed at the said hotel, but the owner/managing staff failed to report the stay to the SSP Udhampur who is also the Foreigners Registration Officer, as mandated under the law.
Accordingly, a case FIR number 359/2025 under Sections 7/14 of the Foreigners Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur. Further investigation is underway.
Udhampur Police has advised all hotels, guest house, and lodging establishment owners to strictly adhere to legal provisions concerning the accommodation of foreign nationals and ensure timely submission of Form C to avoid any legal action.
