REASI, May 8: Shiv Kumar Sharma, president Senior Citizens Welfare Forum has appealed the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer to initiate steps for home vaccination of senior citizens above the age of 60 years in Jammu region on the pattern of Kashmir where 36 teams have been constituted for the drive.
Sharma said that many senior citizens are not in a position to reach the vaccination centers due to old age ailments and fear Pandemic in the gatherings outside the vaccination centers.
He made a strong appeal to Divisional Commissioner for framing an action plan in this regard at an earliest so that senior citizens are vaccinated at their residences and are protected against the COVID infection.
Sharma said presently OPD and operation theatres are closed for surgeries and OPD treatments. Keeping this in consideration necessary medical check up and supply of necessary medicines to the needy senior citizens may also be taken immediately, he added.
