JAMMU, Apr 21: Floral tributes were paid to former National Conference minister and veteran leader, Bodh Raj Bali on his 14th Death Anniversary at a function held at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan this morning.
Leading the party cadre in paying floral tributes to Bali, the State vice president and former minister Syed Mushtaq Ahmed Shah Bukhari described him as a leader par excellence who devoted all his life in service of the people of the State.
Bukhari said that the late leader worked tirelessly for the welfare and wellbeing of the poor and down trodden segments of society and contributed a lot towards the empowerment of weaker sections. He said best tribute to the towering leader will be to strengthen the party at grass root level and make it a vibrant force.
Recalling his contribution towards the welfare of people and development of the State, State secretary and former MLA, Rachpal Singh said that Bali was a leader of high political acumen and caliber, having passion for serving the people, especially poor and down-trodden.
In his tributes to Bodh Raj Bali, Provincial secretary Sheikh Bashir Ahmed said that the veteran leader worked tirelessly in various capacities as a party functionary and senior cabinet minister for people belonging to all walks of life. He said his contribution in strengthening party in Jammu province remains high point of his political career.
Provincial president of NC Women Wing Satwant Kour Dogra, Bushan Lal Bhat Ex-MLC, Deependar Kour Ex-MLC, Anil Dhar Provincial vice president also paid tributes to Late Bali and dwelt upon various facets of his political career. They said that the self-less work of Late Bali will continue to inspire generations.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Pradeep Bali, Nar Singh, Rashida Begum, Reeta Gupta, Rohit Bali, Rohit Kerni, Yashwardan Singh, Tejinder Singh, ML Munshi, Som Raj Taroh, GH Malik and Komal Manhas.
