NEW DELHI: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has started export of its 109-cc bike NAVI to Nepal and has dispatched over 500 units of the two-wheeler to the neighbouring country.
From concept development to commercial production, NAVI is 100 per cent developed by Honda R&D India and also the first full-fledged Honda R&D India model to be exported outside India.
“After witnessing huge success of NAVI in the Indian market, we wish to extend this revolution to other parts of the world. Being one of our largest export markets and a young vibrant country, we are commencing NAVI exports to Nepal,” HMSI Senior VP, Sales and Marketing Yadvinder Singh Guleria today said in a statement.
The overwhelming response received at the Nepal Auto Show and first 500 units export dispatch in a matter of just three weeks is an evidence in itself of its surging demand, he added.
HMSI has a market share of 29 per cent in Nepal’s two-wheeler market. It exports various models – Dio, Aviator, Activa 125, CD Dream, CB Shine, CB Shine SP, CB Unicorn 160, CB Hornet 160R and CBR 250R, to the Himalayan Republic. (AGENCIES)
