RAMBAN, Sept 6: A Special Police Officer (SPO), here today died on the spot after he was hit by shooting stones triggered by a landslide following which he fell into a Nullah from a steep mountain near Police Post Luroo in Neel area of Ramsu.
Police sources informed that the incident took place early in the morning.
Luroo Police Post is located on a steep mountain in Neel area.
The deceased was identified as Snatter Singh, 48, son of Mir Chand, resident of Luroo, Neel.
SSP Ramban, Arun Gupta informed that the SPO was killed on the spot after the shooting stone hit him.
After retrieving body of the deceased from the Nullah cops shifted him to the hospital and after medical and legal formalities the body was handed over to his relatives for last rites.
District Police has condoled the sudden demise of the SPO.
