Hit & run case solved; accused arrested, vehicle seized

JAMMU, July 9: Janipur Police worked out a hit and run case with the arrest of the accused and seizure of the vehicle.
As per police sources, on June 11 this year, two persons riding on a motorcycle were injured after being hit by an unknown vehicle near Paloura Chowk.
Both the injured persons were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu, where one injured person identified as Aman Mehra of Old Janipur succumbed to his injuries after few days, while the injured pillion rider namely Joginder Bahadur sustained injuries.
A case under FIR Number 75/2021 under relevant Sections was registered at Police Station Janipur and hunt was launched to trace out the unknown vehicle and arrest its driver.
During the course of investigation, a special team led by SHO Janipur Inspector Nayat Ali was constituted under the supervision of SDPO West Rahul Nagar.
The team after hectic efforts and with the help of CCTV footages of the area arrested the accused driver of the vehicle, who was identified as Faryad Ali, son of Mohammad Sharief, a resident of Nagrota. On his disclosure, Tata load carrier bearing registration number JK02BU-0252 involved in the accident was also recovered and seized accordingly.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
