KATHUA Mar 13: Police Station, Hiranagar within hours solved hit and run accident case in which one person lost his life late last night.
Incident took place late last night when a pedestrian was hit by a rash and negligently driven car which was on way towards Jammu at Gurah Mundian Hiranagar. The car fled after the accident.
Police team after receiving the information rushed to spot and found the person dead. Police instantly alerted all the checkpoints especially on NHW. Police team under the directions of Inspector, J.J.Bhagat, SHO, PS Hiranagar based on gathered information about unknown vehicle succeeded in locating the car bearing Registration Number, JK0BG-5121 and its driver namely Amit Gupta, S/o Kuldeep Kumar, R/o Channi Himmat Jammu. Police took driver into custody and seized the car.
The deceased was identified as Ramu, 24, S/o Suriya, R/o Satna, MP at present Gurah Mundian Hiranagar. The body of the deceased was shifted to SDH Hiranagar for postmortem.
