SRINAGAR, July 30: In a remarkable act of communal harmony, Syed Sadam Bapu Qadri, a Muslim, along with his Hindu friend Kumar Makuuana, completed a 1786-kilometer foot march from Porbandar (Gujarat) to Pahalgam (Kashmir). The journey, which began on May 29 from the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi, was undertaken to promote Hindu-Muslim unity and raise a voice against terrorism.
Throughout their march, the duo spread a message of peace, brotherhood, and national integration, drawing attention and support from people across states. Upon reaching Pahalgam, they unfurled the national flag as a symbol of unity and patriotic spirit.
Speaking at the culmination of their journey, both friends emphasized that their walk was a tribute to the idea of India as one nation, where religion should unite, not divide. Their effort has been widely lauded as a beacon of hope in today’s times.
