Hindi writers camp begins at JU

JAMMU, Oct 28: Eight-day Hinditar Bhashi Hindi Navlekhak Shivir (Writers Camp), began today at Jammu University.
During the camp which is being organized by the Department of Students Welfare, JU, in collaboration with Central Hindi Directorate (Ministry of Human Resource Development) Government of India, the aspirant writers will be imparted training in Creative Writing in Hindi from the experts from various parts of the Country.
Prof Poonam Dhawan, Dean Academic Affairs was the chief guest during the inaugural function whereas workshop In-charge Ashok Kumar (Assistant Research Officer, Central Hindi Directorate), Prof Pankaj K Srivastava, Dean Students Welfare and Prof Parmeshwari Sharma, Camp Director were present at the dais.
Around 25 participants from Jammu & Kashmir, Assam, Kerala, Karnataka, Odhisha, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh are taking part in this workshop. They will learn various aspects of writing poetry, drama, novel memoirs etc.
The resource persons of the workshop are Dr Shailendra Srivastava from Lakhnow, Dr Ramesh Rishikalp from Delhi and Dr Urmilla Shukl from Raipur.
The programme was conducted in pure Hindi by Dr Rajni Bala from Department of Hindi, JU, Prof Pankaj K Srivastava, Dean Students Welfare JU, presented welcome address.
The inauguration programme was attended by Prof Arti Bakshi, Prof Parvinder Kour, Dr Sushma Sharma, Dr A R Manhas, Dr Sukhchain Singh Manhas, Dr Anju Thappa, Dr Jaspal Singh, Members of Campus Culture Committee, Ifra Kak, Sumeet Sharma, students, scholars and participants of the Camp.
Suneedhi Sharma, Rahul Sharma and Hemant Magotra, departmental cultural secretaries looked after the Hall Management.
