JAMMU, July 10: The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh today organized a plantation drive in its Janipur complex as part of the “Clean Jammu Green Jammu Campaign” and the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative.
The drive was held under the patronage of Chief Justice Arun Palli and chaired by Justice Sindhu Sharma, in collaboration with Jammu Municipal Corporation and Urban Forestry Division Jammu.
Several Judges, including Justice Javed Iqbal Wani, Justice Mohd Akram Chowdhary, Justice Rahul Bharti, Justice Moksha Khajuria Kazmi, Justice Rajesh Sekhri, Justice Mohammad Yousuf Wani and Justice Shahzad Azeem participated by planting saplings of Chinar, Jacaranda and Gulmohar.
The President and members of the J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, and members of the executive body of the Bar Association also took part in the event, which was organized to mark Guru Purnima and promote environmental awareness.
Sandeep Kour, Registrar Judicial, High Court Jammu Wing; Meyank Gupta, Joint Registrar, Judicial/Protocol, High Court Jammu Wing; Ajay Kumar, Additional Registrar besides other officers and officials of the registry were also present on the occasion.
Officers from Jammu Municipal Corporation including incharge IEC JMC, Dr Divya Sharma, Dr Rabia Khan, AFO, JMC and officials from Urban Forestry Division Jammu also joined the event.
