KUPWARA, Aug 9: Security forces today busted a terrorist hideout from Hafruda forest area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara town.
Acting on specific intelligence, a joint team of Indian Army’s 2 Rajput unit and Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a search operation in the dense jungles of Drud near Hafruda in Kupwara district, a police official said.
During searches, he said, the joint team recovered a massive haul of arms and ammunition, including a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG), AK-47, and pistol ammunition, along with various sustenance materials.
Sources said the successful operation foiled attempts to disrupt peace in the region.
