Srinagar, Nov 10: Security forces today launched a search operation in Handwara forests of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district after they received specific information about the presence of militants in the area and busted a hideout.
Sources said that the operation was launched at around 6:30 a.m. in the forests after security forces received information about the presence of militants in the forests.
Sources said that security forces busted a hideout where from they recovered fresh blankets and ration. They believed that hideout is fresh and has been recently used by the militants.
The operation is continuing and security forces anticipated that the militants are hiding somewhere in the forests.
In the meantime security forces today launched operation at Hyderbagh area of Baramulla district this morning after they received information about the presence of militants in the area. However, the operation was called off as no militant was found in the area.
