KATHUA, Oct 26 : In its recent action against drug dealings and to neutralise the activities of drug peddlers within the district, Kathua Police under the overall supervision of SSP, R C Kotwal today recovered approximately three grams of Heroin (Chitta) from Chak Drab Khan near here, today. One lady was arrested along with seized narcotics on spot.
A police team of Police Station (PS) Kathua led by PSI, Riaz Ahmed under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kathua, Shammi Kumar during patrolling duty at Chack Drab Khan noticed one suspicious lady enrouted from Kullian towards Chack Drab Khan Kathua. She was asked to stop for checking. On thorough checking one transparent pouch containing approximately three grams of Heroin (chitta) was recovered from illegal possession of the lady namely Bindu Devu wife of Kulbir Kumar of Chankara Gurdaspur Punjab presently at Chack Drab Khan tehsil Kathua.
All the recovered narcotics was seized and the lady was arrested on spot. A case vide FIR No. 466/2021 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kathua. Further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, Kathua police destroyed 50 liters of Desi Lahan and seized five liters of illicit liquor near Chack Drab Khan in the district. In this connection one lady namely Baby, wife of Labba Ram of Chak Drab Khan, Kathua was arrested. The raid was conducted by a team from Police Station (PS) Kathua led by Inspector, Om Parkash Chib, SHO under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Shammi Kumar.
